Items I will address as your Sheriff, which the current Sheriff has not.

• Attack the gang violence and recruitment that has been manifesting itself in our communities and schools with aggressive enforcement and intelligence gathering. (Recently, several murders, robberies and serious assaults have been linked to gangs)

• Implement a Street-Level Crimes Unit to combat open air drug markets and prostitution in our streets.

• Re-establish a K-9 Unit to assist with drug detection, tracking and other crime fighting initiatives.

• Create youth-focused programs and activities partnered with the Sheriff’s Office.

• Develop a proactive community policing program with greater visibility of deputies in our communities.

• Expand and increase community awareness programs through regularly scheduled Town Hall meetings with me, your Sheriff.

• Establish a well trained, well equipped Evidence Collection Unit to allow for more thorough and effective criminal investigations and successful prosecutions.

• Update the equipment and training of the Deputies to better fight and solve crime in Cecil County.

• Seek out and utilize  every available grant dollar from the Federal and State governments to bring our tax dollars home where they belong.

• Schedule more balanced and effective patrol coverage throughout the County to serve the citizens.

• Build stronger, non-competitive relationships with other law enforcement agencies and other departments within the criminal justice system.

• Provide enhanced security measures at the Detention Center to insure the safety of our correctional officers and our Communities.

• Provide access to advanced training, education, and equal opportunities for promotions for all Deputies and Correctional Officers.
