My name is Christopher Michael Sutton. I was born in Elkton Maryland, and graduated from Elkton High School. I also attended Cecil Community College pursuing criminal justice classes. In 1993, the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office hired me. In February of 1994, I graduated from the Baltimore County Police Academy. I received the Mother’s Against Drunk Driving award for recognition in drunk driving arrests four years in a row as Deputy First Class. In 1997, I was selected as a K-9 Deputy and attended the Baltimore County K-9 police academy with my partner Tazer, a German Shepard. We patrolled for several years making numerous K-9 apprehensions and drug arrests. In 2000, I was promoted to Corporal, the position I still hold today. This position is that of a road supervisor, which allows me to work in the communities with the Deputies who answer your calls for service, but at the same time gives me administrative duties to see both sides of the job.
In August of 2008, I opened a small business in Elkton along with my wife and a partner. The business name is Pampered Pet. It is a self service and full service pet wash with full grooming services available. We decided to open this business because of our love for our pets and the uniqueness of the business.
Over the years I have been and still am active in the community. I have volunteered for the following causes:
Crossroad Bible Church
Elkton Little League
Singerly Fire Company
Chesapeake City Fire Company
Cecil County Special Olympics
Cecil County Boys and Girls Club
Friends of the Cecil County Library
Elkton Chamber and Alliance
Cecil County Chamber of Commerce
Elkton Moose Lodge
Cecil County Fraternal Order of Police
I believe in setting an example for all citizens, especially our youth. As Law Enforcement Officers, we can provide them with positive role models and help guide them in the right direction. I will always support this and as your next Sheriff, will implement programs to promote this as well. |
