Chris Sutton, with your help and support, intends to be elected Sheriff of Cecil County in the November 2010 elections.
While, by its very nature, the Office of Sheriff is a political one, it is not necessarily a partisan one. While I proudly stand as a Democrat (to which I owe my late father who stood with the working person as well as instilled in me a strong social conscience), I am also a fiscal conservative. I believe the Sheriff’s Office is no place for politics while providing you with public safety. There is only the right way, not the political way. Sheriffs do not pass or sign legislation nor do they vote to raise taxes. The Sheriff's job is to do everything in his/her power to ensure the safety of you and your family while maintaining a fiscally disciplined budget. In this I am well qualified, having many years as a crime fighter and as a successful small business owner with employees who stays within a budget and has managed to turn a profit in a recession. Whatever your party affiliation may be, I ask for your support to make Cecil County safe again.
Sutton has been a Deputy with the Cecil County
Sheriff’s Office since August 1993 and
currently serves as a Corporal in the criminal
patrol division. He also served as a K-9 Officer
with his partner Tazer for 7 years.
Chris was born and raised in Cecil County. He is
a married father of two, Erica, age 23 and Christopher,
age 18. Chris, his wife Christine and their two children reside near Fair Hill, along with their three dogs Flex, Rosie and Nikko.
Since announcing his candidacy, Sutton has been
approached by citizens and business people from
all over the county to discuss his views and his
plans to improve the delivery of police services
to all communities and rural areas of the county.
Chris has the experience, vision and leadership
skills to offer better alternatives to the current
administration’s policies and procedures.
As Sheriff, Chris Sutton will implement thoughtful
and carefully planned changes to ensure fair treatment
to the dedicated employees of the department and
a higher quality of service to the citizens of Cecil
County.
On Tuesday, July 7th Chris Sutton officially filed to be placed on the November, 2010 ballot.
